A Windows desk for the Nigerian afternoon

MetaTrader 4 and 5 install on Windows as ordinary desktop applications, and that build is where multi-chart work belongs: several instruments on screen at once, saved templates and custom timeframes, all of it surviving a restart. A computer that is restarted often still reopens the saved layout, which is the practical difference from a browser tab on a borrowed machine.

A desktop earns its place on the size of the screen rather than the speed of the machine. Several charts, an order ticket and whatever is being read alongside them fit at once, which is the part a phone cannot reproduce however good it is. That does not make the phone redundant: the same account is reached from it with no transfer step, so the desk holds the longer work and the pocket holds the checks in between.

The local clock is what makes a permanent desk worthwhile. Nigeria is UTC+1 all year, so the European session opens in the morning and the American one in the early afternoon; their overlap runs from the afternoon into the evening, and a desktop already open since the morning meets it without anything having to be set up.
